I recently became a regular at 10 am yoga class. I used to be the first one to claim my dislike for the activity. I thought it was too slow (yes, I know there are many different types) based on one experience in which I had to hold each pose for 15 minutes in a 60 minute class. Everyone told me that I was close minded, and needed to try out a few classes before I claimed my dislike as a fact. So about two months ago I gave it another shot, the result…I am in love! It is the perfect balance for all of the running and impact activities I do on a regular basis. It reminds me to stretch and I find it very meditative. Just in case you aren’t sold yet, another perk is that it has allowed me to embrace the athletic leisure trend. As a result, I now spend a lot of time in leggings.
For those of you who know me, you know that I am not a huge pant fan. I have large calves and apparently the average female with my same body size does not…or so every standard jean likes to remind me. I’m not too upset about it, I love my calves and have found ways around it (thank you to all of the stretch denim producers out there). That being said, I have never been a legging wearer. I classified leggings as “in-the-house-only clothing”. However, my new found yoga lifestyle has brought leggings from house wear to everyday wear, and I couldn’t be more comfortable! Beyond that, the world of leggings is becoming fashionable, sustainable, and worthy of representing.
Get comfortable and slide into your favorite pair of leggings. You won’t regret it and your calves will thank you. Namaste!
