If You Like This, You’ll Probably Like That

If you’re looking for new music but don’t want to wander too far from what you already know you like, you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve put together several song recommendations below based on artists that you might already know and be familiar with.

Some of the recommendations are based on real life events. For example, Jamie Lawson opened for a Vance Joy concert I went to a while ago. During the concert, Vance Joy expressed his fondness of Jamie Lawson’s music. So don’t take this recommendation from me but from Vance Joy himself.

Other recommendations are based on more subtle similarities. For example, Bombay Bicycle Club’s song Luna uses similar instruments to Blood Orange’s song below. And RIVVRS has a thudding drum sound that reminded me of the Lumineers. For the Crookes, the first recommendation below, the vocals just sound eerily similar to The Smiths.

Before I let you loose, I just want to say that I had fun picking out certain elements of songs from artists I liked and linking them to other songs they reminded me of. Give them all a listen and see if you can pick out more similarities, maybe even some that I haven’t noticed yet!
